| Now I lay me down to sleep, the king size bed is soft and deep.. I sleep right in the center groove my human being can hardly move! I've trapped her legs, she's tucked in tight And here is where I pass the night No one disturbs me or dares intrude Till morning comes and "I want food!" I sneak up slowly to begin My nibbles on my human's chin. She wakes up quickly, I have sharp teeth - I'm a puppy, don't you see? For the mornings here and it's time to play I always seem to get my way. So thank you Lord for giving me This human person that I see. The one who hugs and holds me tight And shares her bed with me at night! Author Unknown |

| Hi LuAnn, Satchel is amazing! He is going to the door to ask to go out! He has been out of his crate, but hasn’t had an accident in 3 days! He sleeps right next to my bed – kind of under it with one little black paw sticking out. He sleeps soundly and doesn’t beg to come up on the bed. He is eating pretty well and busy playing outside too. He is the smartest dog I have ever seen. I haven’t made any decisions about training methods. I wonder if clicker training is for dumb dogs J Just kidding – but, poodles are so smart. They get the idea so fast, I think clicking might seem stupid to them – ha ha I cannot believe how fast he is learning stuff. He is a lover, too – except when he is in his morning play mood when he just wants to nip and run! I am trying to get some good shots of him to send because I want you to have the 10-week photo, but he is so fast and also black, so he doesn’t always show up! I had to work yesterday, so the kids and Michael had him all day. They had a great time and with me gone, he had to bond with them, too. I have to go teach swim classes for a couple hours this morning and Satchel has to go in his crate for awhile – actually on Saturday, we had to go to a baseball game of Roman’s (they don’t allow dogs at this field, plus Satchel is too little) and Satch had to stay in his crate for 2 hours. I had him outside right before we left. That is the only accident he had was in his crate! We are crazy about him! He is the perfect addition to our family! What a love! Talk to you soon! BTW, Did I tell you he is totally negative for worms? Great job, Luann! You are really wonderful! |
| LuAnn We made it Tula did great on the ride Home. Our dogs weren't sure about her at first but wasn't long and they were romping and playing. Lizzie and Tula have shared and exchanged toys. | I wish we lived closer, too! Well, the job is sorta done.... I'll forward photos. You know he is hard to get pics of. The job is kind of messy, but at least he feels better. I cannot believe all the hair! You know we should save the hair from all the dogs' groomings (all Shade's hair and all his babies) and have it made into a sweater for Julie in honor of Braedyn! Wouldn't that be a fun gift? I want one, too. The hair is beautiful and soft, but has density and would be a beautiful yarn, I would think? If we save it all up surely we could get 3 sweaters! That would be so fun! Okay -- sit down before you see the next email with pics, okay? :) I will get better, rest assured. I did not do his feet but only his face and body. I tried to blend the tail together with scissors and the back of his neck, too. I ended up using a 5 blade, because that's what I have right now. It is hard to get into the spots under the legs and in armpits, etc., isn't it? Satchel was a good boy for me and just stood nice on the table. After I was finished with him, I played in the hose with him and hosed us both off! That is a hairy job, isn't it? I still fell a little itchy. Man, groomers really do earn their pay for sure! You might want to pour yourself a stiff drink before you see the pictures - LOL!! The front socks are not even at all -- I made a boo boo and got one too low and then really didn't know what exactly to do except match the other one, but you know how that goes -- it seems I never got the right line across the ankle bone. But, I will learn eventually -- hopefully before I am old, gray and all my teeth fall out! Ha Any and all advice is always appreciated and taken in the best sense! Julie 8-18-11 (I THINK SHE DID GREAT!) |

| KOHL ON 11-6-11 GOING TO HIS FOREVER HOME TODAY |

| Hi LuAnn! Oh we just love our Cooley so much! He learns quickly if we can figure out how to communicate to him what we want! After his first potty-on-lead, and with my praise, praise, praise, he had it all figured out! He responds so well to praise. Even better than treats! Cooley was a big hit with our Vet, Dr. Laura. She was really impressed with his health, his proportions, his size and weight, and made special note of his beautiful eyes, and how firm and strong his muscles feel! She agreed with us that he would be perfect for agility. She was so happy for me that she hugged me as we were leaving! Today, at 10 months, Cooley is 45 lbs.(It's all muscle!) and slightly more than 25" at the shoulder. I love the different sides of Cooley's personality. On one hand he is sweet and affectionate, and on the other hand he is an energetic rocket! To give him the exercise he needs, he and I do a brisk 20 to 30 minute walk, on lead, on our country road every morning, then after our warm-up, I let him burn off more of his poodle-steam by either running around a sandy area on our property, or making a long dash on a path through the woods back to our house. He's still a little iffy about reliably coming when called, thought he always eventually comes, it's the detours that he takes, and how fast and how far he can go that is worrisome, so we haven't had him loose at the beach yet, and are definitely going to get a fenced yard for him. In the meantime, we take him to the dog park next to the public beach in town. It's fenced, so he gets to run around like crazy, and play with other dogs there! (We're having him neutered after the first of the year, and make sure there's no funny-business in the meantime! Everyone at the dog park is very respectful of one another. We always ask permission before entering to make sure the dogs are compatible!) Here are some earlier pictures of Cooley in our house, and back yard, and at the dog park with a new friend... and soon I'll send you some of his new Poodle-Do! Thank you for our beautiful boy! Merry Christmas! Julie, Peter, and Cooley 12-14-11 |

I bought Clay a new leather color with a brass name tag attached. Hope all is well with all your pups. take care 12-9-11 |
| Hi LuAnn, Thanks for the Christmas card, that was very thoughtful. I have been clipping Raina and I do not seen to get the poof on her top correct. What am I doing wrong? I comb and brush it after trimming but it does not uncurl and look right.Should I use a finer comb or brush? She has been very patient and good when I clip her, I have the table near a window and she seems to be happy to look outside. We are enjoying her so much and she is behaving very well, I take her for a walk almost every day and we play ball with her and she does love it, her social skills are good and she is even polite. When one of the dogs are eating or drinking she waits patiently for her turn, even if it is at their house and their food. She is getting another new bed for Christmas, I purchased one a long time ago, but my daughter in CA ( who has 4 dogs) is sending another. She has grown a lot and eats well, so I had to make sure she heels well and listens to commands. We love her and I hope she stays in good health for a long time. She does growl occasionally but never vicious. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a great 2012. and one of these days I will send you a picture with her new red velvet collar. Sincerely , Shirley 12-16-11 |

| Good Morning, We had a good birthday for Raina and I made 2 recipes of dog biscuits and she was happy. The picture was our 1st snow storm that lasted for 2 days we played throwing snowballs. I think the picture does not show how much she has grown. Her dog bed in an extra large and when she stretches her legs, the bed is just right. Have a good day Love Shirley 1-29-11 |
